An oculoplastic surgeon is an ophthalmologist with additional fellowship training in plastic and reconstructive surgery of the eyelids, orbit (eye socket), lacrimal (tear drainage) system, and adjacent facial structures. ASOPRS members complete a rigorous two-year fellowship after completing an ophthalmology residency.
